Once we cross the bridge we will proceed south on the Riverfront Trail into downtown and our favorite coffee stop Breve Espresso on 10th St.  The route home crosses Ead’s Bridge then proceeds through East St. Louis, Jones Park and east on Bunkum Rd.  There is a page on the Trailnet website that has some information on the bridge and bike trail with a link to an excellent video from KETC about the history of the bridge up to the present.  To get to the video link scroll to the bottom of the page.

Saturday is the dedication ceremony for the newly renovated McKinley Bridge in Venice and we have a very special ride planned to coincide with the event.  Starting out at 8:30 am and heading directly west we should arrive just in time for the ceremony at 9:30.  As best as I can tell we will be the only bike club at the dedication. Maybe someone in our membership can arrange a warm rest stop on the Illinois side of the bridge.  Again, the forecast is identical to the past three Saturdays with starting temperatures in the lower forties and warming up into the sixties.
